The Renthal Apex V2 D35 is the stem that's been hiding behind number plates on the bikes of EWS champions for years. The V2 is the evolved version of a design that racked up nine overall EWS series titles, 72 individual race wins, and a World Championship, and it's now better than ever with a wider, more sculpted body for increased torsional stiffness and a revised steerer clamp angle that locks onto your fork with a vice-like grip.
What makes the Apex tick is its patented 240-degree handlebar clamping system. Instead of a basic faceplate, two separate clamps slide along the bar and wrap around it for a massive contact patch, all while a zero-gap lower clamp ensures rock-solid support right where it counts. This clever setup lets Renthal hollow out the stem body with extensive internal machining, so the result is a stem that's incredibly stiff and strong without tipping the scales. The whole thing is forged and CNC machined from 2014 aluminum, with 7050 alloy clamps chosen specifically for maximum strength and durability.
The V2 also cleans up the aesthetics nicely: the steerer clamp bolts are side-mounted and angled tangentially to the steerer tube for a sleek rear profile with no sharp edges poking out. It comes in lengths from 33mm to 50mm to suit modern short-and-steep geometry, and is available in a striking Black/AluGold or blacked-out finish. Pair it with a Renthal FatBar and you've got one of the most dialed cockpits in the game.
For the all-mountain shredder, you'll immediately notice how direct and planted the front end feels, giving you the confidence to rail corners and commit to chunky lines without second-guessing your steering. The featherlight build means you're not carrying a single gram of deadweight, and the bombproof clamp system means your bars stay exactly where you put them, ride after ride. It looks absolutely killer on the bike too, especially matched up with a Renthal bar.
