The Maxxis Aspen is one of Maxxis's premier XC race tires, and the 29x2.4WT version takes everything great about the original and stretches it into a wider, higher-volume package. The low-profile center tread keeps rolling resistance in check while ramped shoulder knobs step up when it's time to rail corners or brake into a steep pitch. Optimized for rims with a 30mm internal width, this wide-trail format adds compliance and float over chunky terrain without piling on the grams.
The EXO sidewall protection is a densely woven, cut- and abrasion-resistant layer that keeps things light and flexible while giving the casing real-world durability for rocky XC trails. Pair that with Tubeless Ready (TR) construction and you can run lower pressures for better grip and control, with sealant doing the dirty work on small punctures. The Dual compound (120 TPI casing) balances grip, durability, and speed in one package, and the folding bead keeps installation clean and the weight down at a claimed 756g.
