mrp-sxg-skid
MRP SXG Skid

Replacement lower skid plate for MRP SXg chain guides and bash guards, sold as a single unit in black.

The skid plate is the nylon lower component of the MRP SXg chain guide assembly. It sits beneath the chainring, contacting rocks and trail debris so the guide and frame do not. On the SXg, this piece also serves as a passive lower chain guide: it works alongside a narrow-wide chainring or clutch derailleur to catch the chain if it derails, without the friction of a roller or pulley system. Because it is the part of the guide most exposed to ground contact, it wears or cracks over time and is designed to be replaced independently rather than requiring a whole new guide.

This replacement skid is confirmed to fit MRP SXg bash guards and chain guides. If you are unsure whether it covers your specific SXg variant, check your guide model against the MRP product page or contact MRP directly before ordering, as the SXg family includes several versions.

Why This Is The Right Replacement

Getting a worn or cracked skid replaced keeps the rest of your SXg guide in service without buying a whole new unit. This is the correct OEM-spec replacement part for the SXg, so fitment is straightforward. Swap it out and the lower chain retention and rock protection are back to working as intended.

Specifications

Fits MRP SXg bash guards and chain guides, sold as a single replacement skid

Serves as both a rock-contact skid plate and a passive lower chain guide in the SXg assembly

Nylon construction with co-molded TPU material for quiet chain contact and impact resistance

Designed to be replaced independently when worn or cracked, preserving the rest of the guide

Confirm your specific SXg variant is compatible before ordering, as the SXg family includes multiple versions
